Zing! Seven Creativity Practices for Educators and Students

When I speak at conferences, campuses and schools, teachers and librarians at all levels say, "My colleagues don't know this, but I like to write or paint or design. How do you do what you do?"

I've written and spoken often about the zing of creating and the zing of writing. The word sings with energy, suggests the zip and zest that we experience when we're being imaginative, a vital skill. ZING! is a book of seven pairs of letters to teachers and librarians about each of the seven habits that I've learned through the years. For example, practice one is Value your creative self. The first letter in the pair explores how we develop the habit in ourselves; the second letter explores how we support our students in developing that habit.
