What's It Like to Write a Book with Pat Mora?

Let's have Pat's daughter, Libby Martinez, answer that question.
"As I wandered through my Colorado garden today, pondering my "grateful list" amongst giant sunflowers and brilliant purple morning glories, at the tippity-top of that list is the amazing opportunity I have been to write children's books with my mom. Whether laughing over what types of snacks to feed a character we were developing (my vote was for coconut-cream pie while Mom opted for apple slices) or working through titles or I Pledge Allegiance plot lines, we both reveled in the opportunity to share a unique and deeply creative journey together. I Pledge Allegiance, which is forthcoming in April 2014 from Knopf/Random House, is one of the culminations of our journey. Stay tuned for news later this fall regarding our second book, Bravo, Chico Canta! Bravo! which will also debut next year!"

I Pledge Allegiance is now available for pre-order:
