Poetry Journeys
Communion: I’ve had the good fortune to travel in my life. My first four collections: Chants, Borders, Communion and Agua Santa: Holy Water were written as individual poems. Communion has poems inspired by trips to India, Pakistan, the Dominican Republic, Peru, and, of course, Mexico.
I conceived the last two collections: Aunt Carmen’s Book of Practical Saints and Adobe Odes as whole book projects. I have worked on a seventh collection. Poetry inspires, challenges and comforts me. You?

Cultural diversity is cultural wealth
The UN General Assembly designates May 21 as World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development. The day provides us with an opportunity to deepen our understanding of the values of cultural diversity. Add a spoonful of bookjoy to this delicious idea, and that’s Día: literacy for all children, all cultures, all languages.
