At Perkins Elementary School in Des Moines, Iowa, with the help of Des Moines Performing Arts’ Applause Series, each class did a different type of performance based on their experience of reading Tomás. Watch the video:
Congratulations and thanks to our friends at the Texas State Library and Archives Commission for their Lone Star Día resource page.
We want children and families in every state to enjoy Día!
Thanks to the Texas State Library and Archives and the Center for the Book of Texas, Pat enjoyed a wonderful production of the play based on Tomás and the Library Lady at the ZACH Theatre in Austin. Members of the Rivera Family, the cast and director, and the Center Coordinator Rebekah Manley are in this happy photo.
ALSC invited Pat to record these Día Public Service Announcements. We hope you’ll share them to encourage families to participate in your Día celebrations!
