Zing!

Pat Mora

ZING! Seven Creativity Practices for Educators & StudentsCongratulations to all the spring graduates! I hope that my book ZING! Seven Creativity Practices for Educators & Students can be a good gift especially for educators and librarians. It’s hard to believe that I had the opportunity to write this book, part memoir/part creativity strategies, in an Italian castle in Umbertide.

It’s a challenge for each of us, isn’t it, to steadily develop our inventive selves?

A Visit to Wisconsin

Pat Mora

In early May, I visited the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. A desert dweller for much of my life, I was amazed at the rivers in the area including the Mississippi River that streamed right behind my hotel. I enjoyed its beauty throughout the day, especially when it turned gold at sunset.

I also very much enjoyed speaking to elementary school students and to student teachers. A special part of my visit was that the student teachers had created clever activities connected to some of my books, and after I spoke, the students visited the different stations to enjoy some book-related fun.

The visit reminded me of how important student teachers are and that connecting them to Día before they graduate can provide a bookjoy initiative for their future work. This is also important for library students.

Spring in Santa Fe

Pat Mora

Is spring finally arriving? Yesterday, I enjoyed the pleasure of taking family to our Farmer’s Market. Such bright colors certainly lift our spirits. Enjoy!
